Clinical supervision is a vital component of Mandala’s commitment to providing a high quality service.

Who can access MANDALA Counselling Service?

Mandala is a not-for-profit organisation that provides affordable professional ongoing counselling services to those most in need

Our service is provided within the City of Sydney and Greater Sydney area.

How do I make an appointment?

Ring 02 8250 8865 to inquire about the service.

You may leave a message with your name and contact details and the intake officer will get back to you within a week .

1. Do I have to pay anything?

While the service is low-cost orfree for people who are unable to afford counselling fees you will be asked to make a donation when you are able.

2. What is Mandala's policy about confidentiality?

Confidentiality is an important part of the counselling relationship. No information will be shared with other health practitioners or services without prior consent, unless you are in danger of harming yourself or others.

3. How long will I have to wait before seeing a counsellor?

Waiting times vary throughout the year. Availability will depend on your individual circumstances and availability of counsellors.

4. For how long will I need counselling?

This, of course, varies with individual clients and circumstances. Where possible and desirable counselling will be ongoing and once weekly.

5. What is likely to happen in the first session?

When a counsellor is available to see you, a time will be arranged and you will be given an address and directions. The counsellor will tell you that 4 sessions are required for an assessment, and that it is essential to attend all 4 sessions. At the end of the assessment period the counsellor will discuss your options.

6. What happens if need to cancel an appointment?

You need to contact your counsellor as soon as possible in order to give reasonable notice. You are expected to attend all four sessions of the assessment period and cancellations are not permitted during that process.

How we make a difference

By providing support over the long-term and working at a deeper level, Mandala’s counsellors may assist you to become more resilient and have more options in coping with the difficulties of life.

Changes may include returning to work or becoming better able to take care of yourself and your family.

This resilience has a ‘flow-on’ effect on your family and wider relationships.
