Psychodynamic Counselling Skills Course

This course involves both psychodynamic theory and supervised counselling experience. Trainees gain over 180 hours of supervised counselling experience.

Make a difference

Give back to your community. Mandala Community Counselling is a volunteer-run counselling service that provides high quality, low-cost counselling to those most in need people within the Sydney area.
Successful applicants will need to complete an intensive training course
that provides a comprehensive grounding in psychodynamic theory and application, combined with practical skills training.

Clinical experience & supervision

Trainees who pass the theory component will begin seeing clients and join a supervision group. Times of counselling (2 hrs per week) are open to negotiation, according to availability of premises.
Supervision group times (2 – 3 hrs per fortnight) are by negotiation with the Clinical Supervisor and the group. This equates to over 180 hours of supervised counselling experience.

Attendance at supervision sessions is a compulsory component of the program.
